History

Eskişehir Osmangazi University Faculty of Theology was established with the decision of the Council of Ministers in 1996. The faculty started its service with the decision of the Council of Higher Education in 1998 with permitting the opening of the departments of Basic Islamic Sciences, Philosophy and Religious Sciences, Islamic History and Arts.

Students were started to be accepted at the undergraduate level at 2008-2009 academic year.

Master degree program in Basic Islamic Sciences started in 2009-2010 academic year, and PhD programs started at Spring 2013-2014. 2010-2011 academic year, master's and PhD programs started in the Philosophy and Religious Sciences and Islamic History and Arts Departments. Currently, the graduate programs have around 200 students.

In our faculty, where an average of 280 students are accepted each year, around 1200 students in total continue their education. A lasting education performance is aimed by maintaining close, positive and effective communication between the student and the academic staff.
