Program in Islamic History and Arts

The Department of Islamic History and Arts examines major political, social, cultural, literary and artistic events that have been going on for centuries in Islamic Religious History. In order to achieve these objectives, the Department is organized into Departments of Islamic History, History of Turkish-Islamic Arts, Turkish - Islamic Literature and Turkish Religious Music. Through these departments, the main subjects of Islamic History are examined and the events and activities around Turkish History and Civilization are discussed. In this way, students gain historical and chronological perspective, as well as the ability to read archival documents and recognize architectural works, poetry, music and literary pleasure.
